Before installing and setting up BoltTheme, ensure that your Shopify store satisfies the basic administrative and layout prerequisites listed below. Preparing these assets beforehand will ensure a smooth setup process.
1. Shopify Account & Subscription Requirements
- Shopify Account Status: You must have an active Shopify store subscription (Shopify Basic, Shopify, Shopify Advanced, or Shopify Plus). BoltTheme is fully compatible with standard developer partner sandbox accounts.
- Online Store Sales Channel: Ensure that the Online Store sales channel is active inside your Shopify dashboard under
Settings > Apps and sales channels. - Theme Permissions: If you are configuring the store as a staff member or collaborator, your account must have permissions enabling the management of themes (
Themes > Manage themes).
2. Asset Preparation Checklist
To utilize BoltTheme’s custom brand settings immediately after upload, prepare the following image and textual assets:
Brand Logo Assets
- LTR Logo: A horizontal logo designed for Left-to-Right reading directions (PNG format with transparent background, recommended size
400px × 120pxat 72dpi). - RTL Logo (Optional but Recommended): A mirrored or translated logo designed for Right-to-Left directions (e.g. Arabic text).
- Favicon: A square icon for browser tab display (PNG format, recommended size
512px × 512px).
High-Resolution Media
- Product Photography: Store images cropped to equal aspect ratios (ideally square
1200px × 1200pxfor catalog uniform grid layouts). - Hero Backgrounds: Banner images designed for widescreen display (recommended size
2000px × 1000pxor1920px × 1080px).
Navigational Mapping
- Main Menu Layout: Plan out your collections, parent folders, and product categorizations to easily configure 3-level navigation dropdown lists.
- Social Media Handles: Keep your profile page links ready for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, etc.
