This guide explains how to upload and display a favicon (the small icon displayed next to your website title in web browser tabs).
Customizing the Favicon
Go to Theme Settings (Gear Icon) > Favicon to upload your icon.
1. Recommended Image Formatting
To ensure the icon remains clear when scaled down in web browsers:
- Image Format: PNG format with a transparent background.
- Dimensions:
512px × 512px(Square). - Compression: Shopify will automatically compress the image to
32px × 32pxor16px × 16pxfor web compatibility.
2. Upload Steps
- Select the Favicon card in the settings panel.
- Click Select image and choose the square PNG file from your computer.
- Click Save in the top right.
- Open your live store page and verify that the icon loads in your web browser tab.
