If you want different products or pages to have different layouts (e.g., some products showcasing a layout with extra video banners, and others with simple layouts), you can create custom templates.
️Steps to Create a Custom Template
- In the Theme Editor top dropdown menu, select the page type (e.g. Products).
- Click Create template at the bottom of the dropdown list.
- Enter a name (e.g.
product-landingorcollection-sale). - Choose an existing template to copy options from (usually
Default productorDefault collection). - Click Create template.
- Customize the layout by adding, removing, or reordering sections.
- Click Save.
️Applying the Custom Template
- Go to your Shopify Admin > Products (or Pages / Collections).
- Click on the item you want to apply the new template to.
- Scroll to the Online store card on the right sidebar.
- Select your custom template from the Theme template dropdown menu.
- Click Save.
